Datadog pricing: what it really costs
The broadest platform, priced per host with every module billed on its own line.
Best for: Teams that want one tool for everything and have a stable, countable host fleet.
The cost gotcha
The bill stacks because Infrastructure, APM, and Logs are each priced separately, and log indexing is a second charge on top of ingestion. On-demand rates run about 20% over the annual numbers.
Every billing axis
| Infrastructure | $15 / host / mo (annual) | On-demand is $18, about 20% more if you do not commit annually |
| Log ingestion | $0.10 / GB | Ingestion is cheap; indexing is where it adds up |
| Log indexing | $1.70 / million events (15-day) | Billed separately from ingestion; longer retention costs more, on-demand is $2.55 |
| APM | $31 / host / mo (annual, with Infra) | Standalone APM is $36; each product is billed on its own |
